Sandbanks no longer the UK’s most expensive coastal property

Yes, you read that correctly – Sandbanks has lost its crown of being the most expensive place to buy property on the UK’s coast. The beautiful spot in Poole has slipped to (wait for it…) second place on the list, according to data compiled by the Lloyds Banking Group.

It revealed that the country’s most expensive seaside homes are now in neighbouring Devon, Salcombe to be precise. On average, homes here cost £1.2 million. Properties in Sandbanks sell for an average of £952,692, so just shy of the million mark.

Of course, that still puts a home in Sandbanks well beyond the reach of many of us, but wherever you choose to move to in Bournemouth, Poole or Christchurch, you’re never too far from the beautiful beaches and luxury abodes of Sandbanks – visiting can be free, even if the homes themselves come with a hefty price tag.

However, don’t be put off by the cost of homes in Sandbanks, as there are plenty of more affordable parts of Bournemouth and Poole where properties are much more reasonably priced – Winton, Charminster, Boscombe and Pokesdown are just some of the locations that fall into this bracket.

If you’re hoping to move to Dorset from elsewhere in the UK, it is certainly worth looking around as there are some wonderful spots tucked away in the lesser-known suburbs of Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch. Although we are based on the south coast, we are a nationwide removals company and are always happy to help with a relocation if that’s what you need.

Should you be considering a move to the coast, but are still unsure, it’s worth remembering that research by the University of Exeter found that living in coastal locations has a range of benefits, from reduced noise and air pollution to having more opportunities for outdoor recreation.

Another benefit of living somewhere like Bournemouth is the “restorative sense of relaxation” the coast provides, which helps reduce feelings of stress and anxiety.

Here at Removals Unlimited, we know all too well how stressful the process of moving home can be, which is why we do everything we can to alleviate some of that stress. Our full packing service is a great option if the thought of putting your belongings in boxes is making you want to run and hide.

We also have a furniture dismantling and reassembly service, to save you having to not only take apart and reassemble your furniture but also the worry over losing the screws or that essential bracket during the move itself. Our team of specialists will ensure that every part, down to the tiniest screw, is accounted for and available when they reassemble your furniture in your new abode.

So, while we’re working hard to put your bed, sofa and dining table back together, you could go for a walk to the beach and destress by the sea before you head home to tackle some of the unpacking.
