How we’re taking care of you and our team during the Coronavirus outbreak

The Coronavirus outbreak means that many of us are making changes to our lifestyles and the way we work. Here at Removals Unlimited, we understand that this is a serious public health challenge and an evolving situation, and we’re doing everything we can to keep our customers and our staff safe at this time.

We are constantly checking for new advice from the NHS or updates from the government. At the moment, the NHS advice only recommends self-isolation should you develop either a high temperature or a new persistent cough.

What we’re doing

Our valued members of staff are checked for symptoms before and after work every day - we use infrared thermometers for this (contactless).

To minimise any risk of contamination, our staff will all wear gloves, masks and visors for all moves until further notice. Given access to hand washing facilities, our team members are encouraged to wash their hands regularly throughout the day and/or use their provided company hand gel.

We are also cleaning all of our vehicles twice daily, using cleaning products that are specifically designed to kill germs through a fogging device (the product used is V2, an antiviral disinfectant).

Please also understand that our staff will keep physical contact to a minimum when carrying out a move or property survey. This is simply a precautionary measure based on the current guidance from the NHS and the government.

We are monitoring the situation closely and will act upon any new guidance that is issued. We will contact you as soon as possible should your move be affected.

What you can do

If you’re getting ready for a house or flat move, there are a few steps you can take to help us all stay safe and follow the government’s latest advice.

This includes:

  • Cleaning any surfaces, belongings and items of furniture that we will be moving for you to minimise the chances of the virus spreading

  • Giving our team access to soap and a bathroom to wash their hands during your move

  • Telling us as soon as possible if you or any of your family are self-isolating due to suspected Coronavirus

  • Making sure anyone in your family who is in self-isolation or a high-risk group isn’t present on moving day

  • Having all windows and doors open in advance of our visit to make sure we minimise touching points and keep the air flowing within the property

Our team of professional movers will do all that they can to ensure your house move goes ahead as planned, with minimum risk to you and your family. Please be aware that the guidance in relation to Coronavirus may change, however, and rest assured that we will update our practices accordingly.

The government has committed to giving daily briefings on the situation, and we will follow these and always act according to the latest available advice.

If you have any questions about how Coronavirus may affect your move, please contact us and we will be happy to talk you through our processes and how we are working to help all of our clients have safe and successful moves in the coming weeks.
