Would you move home more often if it was less stressful?
It’s well known that moving home is considered to be one of the most stressful life events we go through – research puts it at number three on the list of most stressful events, after bereavement and major injury or illness.
This means moving home is more stressful than divorce, redundancy or job loss, finding a job, pregnancy and exams. At Removals Unlimited, we are well aware of how stressful the home moving process is, which is why our team offer a variety of services to help make your move as stress-free as possible.
But, as Today’s Conveyancer reported, a new survey by Moverly found that 41 per cent of people would move home more often if it wasn’t such a stressful process.
So, how do we take at least some of the stress out of moving day? We start by making sure we are at your home on time to get all of your furniture and belongings loaded and ready to go as soon as the keys to your new property have been released.
Our team of professional movers will arrive with everything they need to efficiently and safely move all of your possessions from your current home, to our removals vehicles, and then into your new abode. This includes protective covers for floors, walls and the furniture itself.
If you would like help ahead of moving day, we’ve got you covered here too with our full packing service. This does what it says on the tin – we will pack everything for you ahead of your move. We also offer a furniture dismantling and reassembly service, which means you won’t have to worry about any DIY to ensure you can have a comfortable night’s sleep in your own bed on moving day.
As an article on MSN noted recently, one of the best ways to help reduce the stress around your move is to give yourself time to get everything in order. The earlier you are able to start sorting your belongings the better, and the more you are able to declutter ahead of your move, the easier your packing will be.
If you don’t know where to start with your packing (assuming you’re doing it yourself rather than getting our help!), one top tip is to begin with your clothes. Think about what items of clothing you will need in the week or two ahead of your move, and pack anything you know you won’t wear.
It might sound simple, but easy wins like this can help you build the momentum you need to keep going and once you start, you may well find you continue and get more done than you thought you would.
Don’t forget though, there are professionals like us who love the process of packing and moving. We take great pride in our work and genuinely enjoy helping our clients move into their new homes. If you’d like to find out more about how we can support your move, get in touch today.
