In terms of what your go bag should contain, an article for Real Simple noted that this simply needs to be a suitcase or holdall where you pack all of your essentials – such as toiletries, a change of clothes, any medication you take, and even your children’s favourite toys.

Keep this with you on your moving day so that, no matter what happens, you have the essentials you need once you arrive at your new abode.

Your moving day go bag may also contain your essential pieces of tech, such as a laptop, and make sure you don’t forget to pack your chargers in here too. The last thing you want is to have your laptop or phone but no means of charging it!

We also recommend that you pack a family essentials box that is clearly labelled, so that you have easy access to some of the more practical items you’ll want when you are getting settled in your new home.
