How we are providing Covid-secure moves
When the Covid-19 pandemic started back in March in the UK, there was a lot of uncertainty over what would happen. We all had to adapt very quickly and we brought in a series of measures to keep both our clients and our staff as safe as possible during this period.
Throughout this period, we have constantly been assessing our services to ensure that we comply with government guidance on Covid-secure procedures at all times. As we started the new year and went into another national lockdown, the government announced that the housing market would stay open, unlike during the first lockdown last year.
As a result, it’s still possible to move home in England and we are able to continue offering removals services in Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Ringwood, Ferndown and beyond!
We are, of course, taking all of the same steps that we were earlier in the pandemic to keep you and our team safe. Despite the emergence of a new Covid-19 variant in the UK, the government guidance on how to prevent the spread of the virus remains the same: frequently wash your hands, wear a mask, keep your distance from others and reduce your social contacts.
Below is a reminder of what we’re doing and what we’re asking our clients to do, to ensure that your move is safe and smooth during this period.
What we’re doing
We follow the latest government guidance on safe working practices, which means we practice social distancing at all times, wear relevant PPE, including masks, visors and gloves, and frequently wash our hands and use hand sanitiser (which is provided by the company) to ensure we are protecting both you and our team.
Prior to your moving day, a friendly member of the Removals Unlimited team will contact you to make sure that no one in your household has any symptoms of Covid-19 and to check that no one is currently isolating at your property.
All our removals vehicles are being deep cleaned twice a day, and we are using a fogging device to ensure that the antiviral disinfectant we use cleans every part of the vehicle’s interior.
We’re also monitoring the health of our team closely, including carrying out temperature checks before and after work each day.
In addition, we offer video home surveys when you contact us for a free, no-obligation quote for your move, minimising face-to-face contact and keeping both you and our team safe while allowing us to still provide an accurate quote for our services.
What you can do
We ask that you leave all the internal doors in your home open for us, as well as clean the surfaces and furniture in your home before we arrive. We will, of course, take all the necessary precautions with our PPE, but it is important that we all do everything we can to keep each other safe.
If possible, we will also ask you to leave windows and external doors open while we work to maintain a good air flow through your property.
While we understand that you may want to keep an eye on the removal process, we ask that you please keep your distance from our team so that they can work safely and quickly to pack your belongings up and transport them safely to your new home.
We understand that moving home during this period may feel more stressful than at other times and we want to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to operate safely.
Our team of professional movers and packers is always happy to talk to you about the measures we’re taking in greater detail to help you feel safe and comfortable during your move. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or would like to arrange a free video home survey.
